Jason Petty Bio:
Jason Petty, a native Tennessean, first gained notoriety in 1996 for his portrayal of Hank Williams at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville in the musical biopic of Williams' life, "Lost Highway." After 2 years at the Ryman, Jason then toured nationally with the production. In 2002-3, "Lost Highway" headed Off Broadway in New York City and was a huge critical success. Jason won the Obie Award (Off Broadway's equivalent to the Tony Award) for Best Actor. When the play finally ended in New York, Jason began touring with his own self-written and directed shows. He has written and toured with 6 different shows and all have had gained him national praise. He still acts in national theatre on occasion, performing in "Ring of Fire". "Beautiful Dreamer- The Stephen Foster Story", "Stonewall Country"...and, of course, "Lost Highway", as well as many others. His career goals are the preservation and promotion of traditional country music and the legends that made it great. "Hank and My Honky Tonk Heroes" first opened in 2001 at the Claridge Hotel and casino in Atlantic City and has never stopped touring since. Jason and his wife, Hope, live in Manchester, TN, where they raise their 2 children...Loralei and James.
