About Us

For more than 40 years, Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital has been a place of healing and connection for patients and families in Wilson County and the surrounding area. The two-campus facility is the sole provider of inpatient and outpatient medical services in Wilson County.
To enhance the medical care and patient experience for the Wilson County community, Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) has invested in changes to services, equipment, infrastructure and technology at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital (VWCH).
Since acquiring the two-campus facility on Aug. 1, 2019, VUMC has expanded the hospital’s clinical offerings with the addition of neurologic care via telehealth services, a new physical medicine and rehabilitation clinic and an expansion of its pharmacy services. A new urologist joined the facility in May 2020, and a new outpatient clinic for women’s health services, including general gynecologic care, midwifery and high-risk pregnancy care, has recently opened. The hospital has recruited new hospitalists and staff specializing in primary care, obstetrics, behavioral health, bariatric surgery and gastroenterology to the facility and has credentialed 139 new physicians to the medical staff over the last 11 months.
Additionally, the hospital’s Emergency Department now operates under VUMC’s Department of Emergency Medicine, a transition that involved hiring seven new emergency medicine physicians with additional staffing from physicians who also work at Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital.
