The mission of Educate A Woman is to raise money for need-based and academic-based scholarships for women to attend Volunteer State Community College. It is the support by businesses, individuals, community groups, and civic clubs that make these scholarships possible. The Educate a Woman Luncheon is a wonderful opportunity for women to help other women achieve their hopes and dreams! To date, we have raised over $257,263 for scholarships for women. However, there is still a need - last year there were almost 450 applicants who were not able to obtain a Foundation Scholarship due to lack of funds.
In the past eleven years, EAW has grown to approximately 400 women. This much-loved event features a student testimony followed by a motivational speaker or comedienne. Our 2019 entertainer is best-selling author and syndicated columnist, Ronda Rich. Ronda, a self-described, devotee of the fine art of flirtation” writes “humorously and poignantly about the South and its women.” Ronda Rich first exploded on the national stage almost two decades ago with the wildly successful What Southern Women Know (That Every Woman Should).
