Encore Theatre Company presents a double feature -
Thursday, June 5 - Saturday, June 7 at 7:30pm; Sunday, June 8 at 2:30pm. All tickets are $10 at the door
These shows are presented as part of the Encore Youth Awareness Program, formed to provide young people with a safe place to openly discuss bullying and other issues that affect young people today using live theater as a conduit for discussions.
"The Loser’s Club" by Jonathan Turner Smith, directed by Marc Sloan, is the story of a group of outcast high school students in a small Texas town who have formed “The Loser’s Club.” On homecoming evening, these students kidnap the star football player and homecoming queen nominee, who have ignored, bullied, and ridiculed members of the club for years…The club members put the condescending jock and homecoming queen-nominee on trial for ‘crimes committed against their fellow students'.
"Letters to God", by Michael Rex, directed James Bealor is a short play about the struggle of LGBT youth. It depicts two high school students and their internal feelings as well as their struggle with bullies. This show deals with gay and lesbian bullying.

An open forum will be held following the Sunday, June 8 performance (4:00 pm) Listen & Learn with the cast & Sharon Grosch, LCSW, Grosch Counseling Center. A question & answer session talking about the tough topics in a teen's life. Attendance to the forum only is free of charge when the show program is presented (indicating attendance at one of the prior shows).
