Assembly Operator

Job Purpose:
Assembly of industrial air compressor and vacuum products with engineered controls while staying focused on Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Customer Expectations

Key Job Functions:

  • Basic Mechanical Skills
    • Assembly/Disassembly of mechanical components
    • Use of tools- drill, ratchet, wrench, screwdrivers wire cutters, ferrule guns, and hammer
    • Use of tape measurer
  • Basic Electrical Skills
    • Control Wiring
    • Motor Wiring
    • Read electrical schematics with assistance
  • Basic Plumbing Skills
    • Copper tube flaring
    • Thread taping
  • Read a Bill of Material (BOM) and Drawings
    • Install motors and pumps per drawings, process sheets, and schematics
    • Wire electrical panels, motors, and electrical components per schematics
  • Follow test procedures to ensure units work properly
  • Prepare finished units for shipment
  • Maintain good housekeeping in the work area (5S)
  • Maintain accurate records of scrap components (DMR)
  • Additional job responsibilities can be added at the discretion of the supervisor

Skills Required:

  • Maintain a high level of work ethic to ensure tasks are completed in the man-hours allotted
  • Performing mechanical tasks, ability to use hand tools
  • Ability to read blueprints, flow charts, and wiring schematics
  • Ability to develop working relationships and work with other areas of the company
  • Ability to take direction and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Strong communication skills
  • Computer literacy

Education/Experience/Competencies

Required:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required
