The Basement Marketplace Celebrates 10 Years of Supporting Local Makers and Small Businesses

OLD HICKORY, TN — August 13, 2026 — The Basement Marketplace, a local artisan boutique located at 14625 Lebanon Rd. in Old Hickory, TN is celebrating 10 years in business and a decade of bringing local handmade goods, art, unique gifts, home décor, and boutique clothing to the community.

Founded in 2016, The Basement Marketplace offers a wide variety of locally created products, including handmade jewelry, hand-poured candles, pottery, artwork, home décor, boutique clothing, gifts, and other handcrafted items.

“Our community has been incredibly supportive over the past 10 years,” said Julie Ruesewald, owner of The Basement Marketplace. “What started with around 30 vendors has grown into a community of 60 talented local makers and small business owners. We are so grateful to everyone who has shopped with us, supported our vendors, attended our events, and helped us reach this milestone.”

In addition to providing retail space for local artisans and entrepreneurs, The Basement Marketplace offers craft classes and community events, giving customers opportunities to learn new skills, connect with others, and experience the creativity behind many of the products sold in the store.

10th Anniversary Celebration

The Basement Marketplace will celebrate its 10th anniversary on Friday, August 21, and Saturday, August 22, with refreshments, prizes, and special anniversary festivities throughout the celebration.

Saturday's celebration will include birthday cake as the store officially marks 10 years of supporting local makers and small businesses.

The anniversary celebration is an opportunity for customers, friends, vendors, and members of the community to come together and celebrate the people who have made The Basement Marketplace possible.

The Basement Marketplace is located at 14625 Lebanon Rd., Old Hickory, TN, and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
