For this event only 300 tickets are sold and every fifth ticket that is randomly drawn by the emcee wins a prize. This is ongoing until there are 10 tickets left in the hopper. Those 10 ticketholders can then determine whether they would like to split the grand prize, $10,000, or keep drawing until only one person wins. While names are being called, a silent auction is available for attendees to peruse. In 2007 and 2009, the two most recent events, there were just over 200 adult attendees. This event is expected to net approximately $18,500.00 for fiscal years 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 to offset the costs associated with supporting and training volunteers who serve as advocates to child abuse victims. The reverse raffle has been authorized for operation by the 107th General Assembly and the State of Tennessee Division of Charitable Solicitations, Gaming Division.
